Unlocking early childhood development with Eduwis Kindergarten in Pahang
In Pahang, Eduwis operates two centres, one in Kuantan and the other in Mentakab, offering early childhood education for children aged 2 to 6 years. Early childhood development is crucial for establishing a strong foundation for future learning, as it shapes a child's cognitive, emotional, social and physical growth during their most formative years. These early experiences influence brain development, laying the groundwork for skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving and emotional regulation. High quality early childhood education equips children with the confidence and abilities needed to thrive academically and socially, fostering lifelong learning and success. Investing in these formative years ensures children are better prepared to meet the challenges of school and beyond.
Eduwis Kindergarten, one of the top preschools in Malaysia, has built a strong reputation in Pahang for its dedication to providing high quality early childhood education. Centres like Eduwis Air Putih, Kuantan exemplify this commitment, offering a nurturing environment where children can grow and thrive. Parents in Pahang value Eduwis for its focus on personalised care, highly trained educators and a curriculum designed to prepare children for future academic and life challenges.
Eduwis program is built on the basis of integrating 8 different educationists’ approaches, including Erik Erikson, Friedrich Froebel, Loris Malaguzzi, Maria Montessori, Jean Piaget, Shinichi Suzuki, Lev Vygotsky, and Confucius. For instance, Vygotsky's principles guide language development and social interactions among children, while Montessori's methodology fosters self-independence and living skills. Thus, Eduwis provides a comprehensive education that attends to every aspect of a child's development.
At Eduwis Preschool Malaysia, every child has the opportunity to learn to play the piano as part of our curriculum. Each day, they receive individual piano sessions tailored to their attention span. This approach ensures daily practice and learning while keeping the lessons brief. Learning the piano can greatly benefit your child's overall development, as research shows it improves academic performance and helps them become more well-rounded individuals. Additionally, children have the chance to showcase their piano skills during the annual activities.
To foster the personal development and growth of our teachers, Eduwis has designed and implemented the following initiatives alongside them:
1. Pre-operational training (POT)
Eduwis provides pre-operational training for franchisees, principals and teachers before the centre starts operations. The POT is a 10-day training which covers management training and program training. Program training is available for all teachers while management training is only for franchisees and principals.
2. Monthly teacher’s training (EMTT)
Eduwis understands that it is not effective to have a good program but without trained and skilled teachers to facilitate it. Early childhood education is not only for the children – Eduwis team understands that engagement in ongoing learning is critical to the provision of high quality education and care. Therefore, Eduwis has ongoing training for all the teachers on a monthly basis. Eduwis is a training provider certified by Human Resource Development Fund. Trainers from the Eduwis R&D team will collect information from the support team on the problems that are faced by all the centres and will give in-house training to solve the problems as well as enhance the teachers’ skills in guiding children. Eduwis covers a wide range of training like teaching skills, child psychology, teacher’s attitude, centre’s maintenance, annual activities and so on. Furthermore, Eduwis usually identifies these teachers' potential to enhance their career as centre principals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Eduwis team has turned the monthly teacher’s training into virtually through video conferencing method. Additionally, the Eduwis team provides additional training to equip teachers with the new norm online teaching method.
3. Leadership Shadow Program (LSP)
Eduwis Leadership Shadow Program is a campaign to create career paths for Eduwis teachers. A career path gives the teacher a sense of direction, a way to assess career progress, and an opportunity to achieve career goals and milestones along the way. It is also a way for Eduwis to expand the number of centres from internally groomed teachers.
4. Teacher for Teacher campaign (T4T)
Eduwis started the T4T campaign in 2021 to help teachers share knowledge and skills they have with other Eduwis teachers. Eduwis team conducts T4T two to three times a week and has volunteered Eduwis teachers to share skills that are useful to other teachers. For example, Eduwis team members have teachers sharing interesting Microsoft PowerPoint animation skills so that the other teachers can prepare their online learning PowerPoint slides in a more attractive manner. Eduwis also has teachers sharing other non-academic related topics like personal image enhancement, among others.
